Small Trees for Small Spaces

Trees are an important part of our cities, not only for providing vital habitat for the birds that our city support but also to help with urban cooling, especially as we are living with the effects of climate change.

Join us with Dr Gregory Moore from University of Melbourne Burnley, for a discussion on how we can best use trees in small backyards and get all of your questions and concerns answered by a leading expert in this field.

We will cover:

  • The role of trees in small gardens

  • how to select the right tree for the right location

  • tree root systems

  • planting information

  • suggested trees

This is an online event hosted via Zoom. You will receive the link for the Zoom event in the confirmation email once you have registered. If you don’t receive an email, try checking your junk folder or email contactus@mysmartgarden.org.au.

This My Smart Garden event is open to residents across all participating councils, and is proudly presented by Stonnington City Council on the land of Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nations. My Smart Garden pays our respect to Elders past, and present and acknowledges that First Nations peoples have cared for Country sustainably for tens of thousands of years.
