Natural Pest and Disease Management – online
Learn how to keep your garden healthy and productive without harsh chemicals!
What’s eating your cabbage and why are your tomato leaves turning yellow? In this session you’ll learn how to keep your garden healthy and productive without harsh chemicals! We’ll identify common pests and diseases—including Queensland Fruit Fly—and explore low-cost, safe, and natural interventions. We’ll also learn to work with nature to prevent outbreaks by attracting beneficial predators, improving your soil and using smart garden design.
Join Karen Sutherland from Edible Eden Design to learn how to manage garden pests and diseases naturally. All gardens contain a mixture of insects, and in this online seminar Karen will demonstrate how to tell the good from the bad and some organic methods to encourage beneficial insects and control destructive ones, as well as strategies to manage other wildlife in your garden.
Your facilitator Karen Sutherland has spent her life in the garden, from an 8 year old in her vegie patch to training at Ceres, Melbourne Zoological Gardens, an Associate Diploma in Applied Science from Melbourne University (Burnley), and a Permaculture Design Certificate with Bill Mollison. She has run her own horticultural business for 35 years and 12 years ago shifted her focus to edible plants as ‘Edible Eden Design’.
